Question about running untuned.
Until i can find someone that really knows what they're doing, i'll be running my car untuned. I have a wideband, so i can mess around with it until my numbers are below 12, my question is: Is it safe to run untuned as long as my numbers are under 12?

well since you have a wideband and it sounds like you have a way to control fuel and ignition, just tinker around till you figure it out.

dont run much boost.. dont beat on the car.. (unless you want to rebuild)
your Air Fuel ratio isnt the only variable.. if it was.. tuners would be out of buizness
no matter how much we say it.. people dont listen.. you need to get it tuned professionally..

Re: (Zakar)
I'm running conservative ignition timing, just asking if as long as i keep my fuel under 12 if it's safe as far as fuel, like fluctuating from 10s to high 11s.

Man U FTW
you spent a lot of money to get your car to the point its at right now so why risk blowing it up? I would maybe run untuned for a little while, but i wouldn't beat on the car whatsoever!

TaKe it easy and do it yourself. With some conservative timing maps, two hours googling about spark plugs and how to read them, a magnifying glass and a timing gun you should be able to churn out a map that you can use for a long time.

Exactly, i'm not worried about max power yet, i'm just needing guide lines so i don't blow my motor. Don't want that redneck beside me revving his glasspacked truck to think i'm intimidated by it.
It's hard to find someone that can tune Uberdata here, i've found one person that could do it and he was a real ******* so expletive him getting my money.

you don't need to get it proffessional tuned, unless you want to. I ran with only a wide band, and never hooked up a laptop for 5000 miles. I ran for a while at 10 psi, and then upped it to 15 later on. I now have a laptop and will use that for next spring, but to say you WILL be rebuilding it.... I still had great compression before i pulled mine this winter. Just listen, feel, and watch. Good luck.

Si Shane has the right idea . Run conservative timing to start off, keep your afrs in check, and keep a constant eye on the plugs for any detonation.

Good news! Si Shane and i were talking on IMs and he suggested i check out Crome, when Google searching it and reading on it, i found a directory of tuners for Crome, in this directory, i found someone that can tune Uberdata or Crome about 200 miles from me, so i'm good to go.
