Default Re: question about custom mani (jdm-yoda)

What will it be made out of: stainless or mild steel, tube or pipe? Tell him you want it back purged, especially if it's not going to cost you a whole lot more. What it means is, he is going to plug the tube/pipe on both ends, insert a hose that will supply the inside of the tube/pipe with inert gas (argon usually) that will shield the molten metal (that comes through the weld joint on the proper weld) from oxygen/air. It makes for a proper, stronger weld. And in the case of stainless steels it will prevent chromium oxide I believe (bird poop looking stuff) from forming on the inside of the tube/pipe. It isn't really necessary on pipe manifolds that a lot of people don't even get full penetration on, but it is definitely needed on tube manis.
