question about boost upgrade?
wats up guys, well let me first start off by saying I have a B16a stock with a t3/t4 turbo garrett. at the moment im at 5psi with an FMU and missing link. I just orderd a manual boost controller and was thinking about raising the boost to 7psi.
is there anything I should buy to insure that the engine will be fine? besides getting it tunned cuz ya I have $1000 of dollars hanging around lol. or will this set up be fine? cuz I know a b16a is good up to about 300hp?
thanks....

the b16 is save for 300 hp but sure not with an fmu setup... get a good engine management, injectors and get it tuned... thats the only thing helps your engine live longer...
if you are not have much money, try uberdata, its better then nothing...

You should learn how fuel injection works and what the fmu actually does and youll be able to answer that question..

Like I quote in another thread...only 25% of all the people that's boosting is running right & with a EMS & fully tuned...
That equals= max potential out of there setups & reliability...

AEM EMS isn't the only one that can do it "right" and yield a "max potential"...

Don't change your injectors unless you get some means of altering your duty cycle, like a standalone or V-AFC. 7 PSI may or may not be okay with a FMU and stock injectors. I ran 6 PSI just fine on my B16, but when I bumped mine up around 8-10 the fuel pump (Walbro 255) couldn't maintain the required pressure and I broke the ring lands off all of my pistons pretty quickly. Personally I wouldn't go above 5-6 PSI with a FMU, but I don't enjoy replacing my pistons. Save up until you can get a standalone with larger injectors and pay somebody competent to tune it. It will be cheaper than rebuilding your engine with new pistons after you blow it up.

I was referring to any EMS.
