Default question about autometer boost gauge

Ok I know that my boost gauge is not calibrated right. It sit's in neg vac at like 9 when the car is off. So what my question is it possible to to tell how much boost I'm really running? Because right now it is telling me that I'm only boosting 3 psi. Now the weird thing about this is my bov is not blowing off until I get pressure built up like when I'm shifting from second to third gear. So if I'm sitting in neutral and I rev my engine up to about redline and let off the gas it still won't blow off, is this normal? I have a drag gen 4 turbo kit for a accord with a tial wg and hks ss bov.

If your car is turned off, it should be at "0". It kinda sounds like a defective Boost gauge. About the blow-off valve. It should blow off (not as loud as conpared to when under load) even when you're reving and let off the gas in neutral. Maybe the BOV is set too stiff. Check the vacuum lines for the BOV and gauge as well.
