Q's on building a head for boost
im currently in the process of rebuilding my y8 head.. previously had a z6 head strapped onto a y8 block and made 285whp on 16psi.
i want to do this one right, the z6 head was destroyed by #1 cylinder contact when a timing belt broke.. so i took my old stock y8 out of storage, stripped it down and now its sitting at dg motors waiting for the P&P and valve job.
im running skunk2 street cam, kms springs / retainers, and stock valves (the kms valves were destroyed but stock sized anyway).. im trying to save some money on the build but i also want to do it right like i said so... running the stock valves will a 3 angle valve job suffice, or should i go for the 5 angle? and will running the stock valves over the stainless steel kms valves be a bad idea? 4 valves is only a hundred bucks but if i can get away with running the stockers i would love to.
oh yea, im running a 62mm tb, and a venom intake that had all the runners polished, any advice on making any little bit of power for cheap out of what i got would be great

you seem to be on the right path
make sure all your valves are the same brand/type/size
id switch to a bigger cam if you want more power with less boost

I agree with phatrick, whats the bottom end doing? Cuz your definetly building the top right. When i was all motor, i did something huge...port match intake manifold to gasket, to head...make sure there is no constriction between the 3, or all your head work, is obsolete. Are you putting an adjustable cam gear on? The tuner will play with timing to make ya more power also. Cam gears are cheap if ya havent already! Good luck
