Pusher or Puller Fan?
I am installing turbo kit soon and needed to replace the fan,
i got a flex-a-lite fan that can either mount as a pusher or a puller.
i could use the extra room in the engine bay but will it hurt anything if i decide to go pusher
Thanks for any replies

Pusher is not as efficient as a puller (read it somewhere)...
It also depends if the fan has a shroud that channels the air. Shrouds on fans
mounted in a pusher config really negates the need for the shroud. You won't
pull air through the fins of the radiator covered by a shroud in a pusher config.
I would recommend go ahead and mount as pusher, and to potentially mount
a puller as well later.

true....in most cases, the reason why people get pushers are because there is no room the the bay to keep the stock fan. If your lucky enough to fit a fan there, sometimes the heat generated by the turbo can melt the fan.
Well thanks for all the replies, I am going to mount it tomorrow as a pusher.....it doesnt really have much of a shroud so its no going to block much.
Unfortunetly if i would have known i was going to mount it as a pusher i would have got the dual setup or two singles so i could pump more air in, i will just keep an eye on my temp levels.

im really lost on all this fan talk. a puller a pusher.. hmm.. a stock fan is a puller correct? pulls what lol. a pusher is mounted in the front of the radiator? What are the advantages or dis. of both fans. If i go with a new puller fan, how much diff. would it actually make being that its still on the inside of the engine bay.

I have a pusher fan and it works great. As a matter of fact its a tiny 10" fan I bought off ebay. I cut the stock harness and wires this one into it. Now it comes on when the stock fan used to and cools everything down nice. There is so much more room to work in the engine bay!
yeah im sure it does, but how i dont know, why would Honda design it like they did if it wasnt the most efficient? hmm, plus, does that kinda block the normal air from coming in? Hey BTW, what fan did you get? Im lookin at getting a puller/pusher fan from summit $70, just reversing the polarity. sound good?
you can get them at pep boys/ autozone. i just got one this past week and it was $60.00. i got the 12 inch one for my civic and it keeps the radiator cool. it is mounted as a pusher and works way better than the stocker.
yea i got the 10" fan from pep boys and wired it for pusher....sounds like my car is winding up to take off when that thing kicks on, its very loud....but works extremely well and cheap!
