Default PT 61?

I've searched to no avail. From what I've seen on youtube (lol) it seems to be a promising turbo. I have no idea what that guy had done to his LS VTEC, except for the turbo he used. It seems to spool much faster than a GT35R with no loss of power at high rpms. Does anyone have experience with the PT 61? I was thinking of getting a .70/.58ish PT 61 for my 84.5x89 ls vtec...any ideas?

I am running 10.1 as well. I'm questioning my options. I want a turbo that will spool quick for low/mid-range torque and hold power to the redline. Something capable of 650-680hp . I really like to see how this would perform on a similar setup.

The PT61 uses the same compressor wheel as the GT35R but with a larger P-trim turbine wheel. It will not spool faster than a 35R, which has a smaller turbine wheel and ball bearings.

If you want to make 680 HP go pickup a GT4088R, or something like a Borg Warner S366.

I was going to run a PT61 BB, so I have done some research on this turbo. Here is the best dyno I have found. It's for a Built 2.0 liter with PT61..
DYNO:http://forums.evans-tuning.com...=PT61

Not a bad spool up.. But a I would imagine a BB turbo would spool a little quicker.. So you may want to look into the BB PT61 aka. SC6152RS

Here is a SC6152RS that for is for sale in the Marketplace:

I decided to go with 6076RLS, I couldn't pass up a good deal, and I wanted to give it try.. Some of the DSM guys seem to love them.. a tad smaller then the 6152RS, but I wanted a little better spool up.

good stuff, thank you. When do you see full boost with the 6076RLS (I guess that also means what's your setup)? What do you think that turbo can make power-wise?

Im using a T4 PT6176SP oion my built H22

Pump gas made 530 and370 Ft Lbs at 17 PSI
Trick 114 made 637 and 460 TQ at 25 PSI... Maxed the [freak] out.

It is basically the same as a GT35. On my motor it spools like an animal and is a mean *** ****. The GT3582r spools only a couple hundred earlier, it takes advantage of the DBB cartridge on transient response between shifts though, snapping back quicker (IF YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE FLOOR IN THE FIRST POLACE...LOL)

If you want to make the power goals your looking at though id suggest its 67MM cousin though PT67. Im moving to a 4094R at the end of the season.

I haven't Finished my setup, I still have a lot to work on and parts to order.. Trying to take my time.. So I don't go into debt to in the process Save a little spend a little etc.. But I'm closing in very soon.. I only need few smaller/cheaper parts now..

But I will be running that turbo on 2.0 Vtec B18, Hytech manifold, Ectune, exedy twin etc.. etc.. I have been gathering HIGH quality USED parts for awhile.. So you can call it a garage sale build.. Almost everything is used except the turbo.. I saved a whole lot of money this way.. I have built a few cars, and this maybe one of the cheapest builds I've done but with the best quality parts..

I think my power goals are a little lower then yours are.. But Precision rates the turbo for 610HP, but who knows really how much it can push it.. I'm going to be treading in unknown waters, with this turbo and manifold.. I can't find any dyno's or much info on the 6076RLS turbo.. Except from a few DSM guys, and there accounts.. I'm hoping for a little faster spool up then GT35.. If it doesn't work out, I'll move onto another turbo.. I just couldn't pass up the deal I got

gotcha. Keep me posted, please! lol You're results will influence my final decision. This is a daily driven car I plan to turbo. I'll be fine with 600ish if it spools decently.

As mentioned above the PT61/SC61 uses the same compressor wheel as a GT35R, the turbine wheel is not just a P trim option though, you can get a T3 Stage 3 wheel 31 wheel or 52 trim Stage 5 wheel also. These are available BB and NON BB in T3 aka SC61 and T4 aka PT61 .

Great turbo, ClarkBar on here went 10.1-10.0s with a PT6176S .68 A/R P trim wheel 2-3 years ago in his CRX. Great turbo If interested in one you can contactme also or any info needed

Compressor wheel is 61.6mm inducer, 82mm exducer Max whp is 650ish to 680whp max max maxed out
