Pros And Cons OF DSM 450cc Injectors
I was looking at buying a set of DSM 450cc injectors and I really dont know too much about them. I used the search feature like I normally do but nothing came up. My goals are just a street driven car with 300 at the wheels. Will these get me there?

Yes, DSM 450's will support 300whp.
Unless you are electrically retarded and can't figure out a resistor box, the only downside to used injectors is that they are used injectors. I would have them cleaned and flow tested before you use them. Don't cheap out on fuel.

pros: cheap, easily available
cons: you probably dont know your injector's history, unless you have them cleaned and tested.

Yea I know about having them cleaned and flow tested. I saw a set on ebay for 90 dollars and the guy said they were sonic cleaned. But just in case he is trying to get over on me where can I get these cleaned and flow tested at?

i remember reading about the differences between black top and blue top 450s; the black tops are newer and have a better/more efficient pintle design. someone please correct me if i am wrong.

yes
CONS:
-you dont know what shape they're in
-for your goals, they're going to be on the verge of maxxing out
-no room for improvement without a complete retune on new injectors

Re: (Schister66)
ok so wat would you guys that said maxxing them out at 300 hp would go with??? I really dont wanna pay near 400 dollars for a set. Not cheaping out or anything its just that the manifold I am going to get is a backbreaker itself

I don't know why you shouldn't use DSM injectors (low impedance) with Hondata, considering most 1000cc+ injectors are low impedance. An injector is an injector. Just make sure you use a Honda resistor box with low impedance injectors or you will burn up your ECU, regardless if it has Hondata hardware or not.
If you want another cheap source, look for EVO8 injectors, same type as DSM, but 550cc (or 560cc, can't remember).

Hondata claims that the DSM injectors are a bit more finicky to tune at partial throttle. I've had issues like this on some set-ups and they usually take a tad bit longer to tune and sometimes you'll get some strange looking fuel tables. In the long run, just go with a new injector. Buying used stuff is buying someone else's problem 85% of the time.

black tops have a slightly different spray pattern yes...
but more often than not someone will sell non-turbo DSM injectors as "black tops" because they are black as well.

Re: Pros And Cons OF DSM 450cc Injectors (Bonestock98GS)
CONS CONS CONS ..... they are most likely old and clogged up so don't buy them... if you buy them clean them at a fuel shop. usually $30-$50 each or so. I'd say get NEW ONES........
PRO PRO PRO..... yes they are probably $80....hehe you wont be happy when they cause problems...
again get new ones RC 440...$300 worth every penny of it!!!
best advice when building and buying parts is to buy new.... please guys/gals do this and 99% of the time you'll be happy

Re: (PrecisionH23a)
I'm going to imagine the 4000 people out there running DSM 450cc injectors just fine are going to disagree.
I never had a problem with even the most ghetto fabulous EMS systems tuning all load areas with these injectors, getting great gas mileage and pushing 300 whp easily with less than 50 psi of rail pressure.
Hondata has finally released injector battery dead time or "offset" tables which makes for much better adjustability, especially on larger pintle injectors like the DSMs. This is going to help Hondata users for sure, especially those with laggy injectors.
Their claims about LOW impedance injectors are for those people who dont know better and run low imp injectors without a resistor box.

When i started my setup i got a set of 550s and was shooting for ~300whp...i wish i would have gone larger...either 720cc or 880cc. Just remember you're always going to want more power in the long run

Re: (sohczcturbo)
Yea I am loving all the responses and if you can keep them coming. But I think I am going to go get my some 625cc injectors from av-engineered. Yea the DSM injectors are cheap but I realized the #1 rule. Do it right the first time.

Then you're well on your way...if you cheap out, you end up doing it over again and spending more money in the long run
