raising this thread from dead because i need some help. like 612tunerh22 i have a car(94 4 dr teggy[not sure what car he had]) with an ls tranny but no motor. i was thinking about going jdm b20 turbo but from what i read thats out of the picture, now i have a friend who owns an import shop and he is offering me a stock jdm type r block with a b16 help(no intake or exhaust manifolds) all brand new seals, gaskets, water pump, belts etc... for $1600. i think its an awesome deal but i want to go turbo, and when we check the compression was in the 12's i dont remember exactly. could i boost that? I was also thinking b16 turbo but i didnt want to put a 1.6L in a car that came with a 1.8L it that makes an sense. i really need some help on a set up that could get me ready for boost in my 4 dr for under 2K. turbo and tuning cost is separate from the 2k. all help will be greatly appreciated. thanks and sorry about the long post.

(picked her up for $400 dollors on tein flex 16 way adjustable coilovers GS-R full leather interior and tons of extra goodies. stock LS hydro locked)

b16 turbo would be ok. a little torqueless but itll make the power

the 11:1 JDM ITR motor can be boosted but low boost** and A VEEEEEEERY conserative tune would do you well. However its very risky

1.8 vtec motor, simple t3t4 setup, around 10 psi. that usually does the trick nicely.

whatever you do, DONT skimp on management/tuning. it makes the world of difference

Alright guys thanks for all the help and I have also made up my mind on the setup I'm going for. I'm will be using a jdm type r block with forged LS internals, b16 head port and polished with skunk2 valve train brian crower cams aem cam gears arp head stud and main studs. That about it for the motor. The turbo setup I'm still undecided yet but when I do I now plan to try and hit 450-500 whp, while retaining A/C power steering and with out gutting the car. Any suggestions and input, I yeah and donations. LOL.

Thats terribly incorrect. How are the sleeves not thinner?? Same bore spacing, and bigger bore, means the cylinders become thinner in the middle and the pistons get closer together....
