Default Proper Wheel Sizing

I was hoping that some people here could enlighten me on the ideal rim/tire setup for a daily driver Honda putting out 250+ whp. I've already limited my search down to 15" or 16" rims, under 12 lbs apiece. I plan on maintaining stock wheel/tire diameter as well. For my horsepower level should I go with a 6.5" or 7" wide rim? For proper handling, should I have the same width rims in the front and rear, or would 7" up front and 6.5" in the rear be alright?
Thanks for the input guys!

The rim width is dictated by the size of tire you want to run. Generally a wider wheel for a given tire width will perform better. Find the specs for the tire that you are thinking about and use that to guide your decision.
