Is that the retaining clip that's supposed to be on the axle?

Why do I see two of them in there though?

I don't think its the retaining clip.

Looks like the spring that is part of the seal itself.

Yes it did.

Phiz, I will check it out on Thursday. I thought the same thing.

Ryan, it is a reman from Advance Auto. This is the 2nd one I have bought. The first one I bought for my EX Sedan daily driver was fine. This one had all sorts of problems. They swapped it our for a new one!! Another problem that should be solved. Also, when changing alternators I have to take the driveshaft out now cause the DSS axles are to honking big!! What a pain!!

Also are u putting any lub on the seal before u put them in?

That helps a lot. Both seals have springs (Cam and driveshaft seal). Tranny one came out. Cam one didn't. I must have missed something.

That sucks. That turns a 5 minute job into a 1 hour job.

The ripped one is the cam seal. When it was installed, the engine was still out of the car and the rocker assembly wasn't even installed yet. In other words, the seal was installed on the cam then the cam in the head and then rocker assembly. Maybe this wasn't the best way to do it.

This time it will be pressed in with a socket. This what everyone else uses? I assume no Hondabond as the Helms mentions nothing about this. All it says it to wipe off the cam and housing, oil the cam and seal and press in.
