Default Procharger or Vortech?

I know this is a Honda forum, and this would probably be easier asked in KILLS, but for a 91 Mustang LX 5.0, what are the benefits of each supercharger? I have a friend who is considering buying one or the other. He also plans to boost 12 psi.

for the cost of a supercharger. you can get better power out of a turbo setup and use the left over money on some bad *** tuning

This kid I know has a vortech on his mustang gt, it makes a lot of noise but doesn't really go anywhere. Another guy I know has a prochrager setup on his roush mustang, supposedly it makes a ton of power, but it doesnt really move anywhere on the street.

Reason being, centrifugal blowers aren't as efficient as a properly designed turbo setup. As opposed to using spent gases, the centrifugal blower acts like a turbo on a stick, resulting in the majority of the hp gain in the upper rpm range.

Procharger, Oil-Self Contained, Gear Driven | Cost Mid 4k

Vortech, Belt Driven, | Cost Low 4k

Your friend should save the money

Anyone else have any info about experience with these kits? Thanks for the replies, but he really doesn't want to go turbo. I personally know the pros and cons for superchargers vs. turbochargers.

Turbo would be a better choice, but Procharger > Vortech!!!!!!

Procharger is the best supercharger period(centerfugel)!!!

The procharger kits are high quality, like buying a full race stage 4 turbo kit!!!

Prochaarger is by far better. But i agree with others... he sould go junkyard turbo. BBK headers turned around some 2.3t turbos piping, an i/c, injectors, and calib. MAF . You got a 500hp car.

Procharger.

I would personally never go Vortech, just better options out there.
