Default Problems with Throttle reading on VAFC

Lately, on my VAFC, I get a throttle reading of 0% no matter if i'm idling or at WOT. Then other times when I'm not applying ANY pressure on the throttle, it reads a constant 5.6% and increases normally from there. Sometimes it works just fine. Has anyone else experienced problems like this? Could the connection between the VAFC throttle wire and the ECU throttle wire (TPS maybe??? not sure) be loose?? I've been too lazy to tear into the shitload of wires/connections tucked behind the kickplate. What do you think? Oh yeah... when the throttle reading is incorrect the voltage is lower than it should be. What does that mean?

I had the same problem when I first installed my VAFC. I re-checked/re-crimped all the wires and it has worked ever since.

Well, being the fact that your throttle SOMETIMES shows up, I'd say it's the wiring.

Mine did that, but it was ALWAYS at 0%. No matter what I did, zero.

Turns out, the AFC crapped out and also didn't have a pressure signal either. Sent it in for warranty work, and got it back a few days ago. They sent me a brand new one, so it should work.

Definitaly sounds electrical. You might have some wires touching that shouldnt be and it is sending flase readings to your monitor. You will probably have to recrimp them one at a time thats what i did when I first installed my VAFC and it didnt turn on. Good luck!

I have experienced this as well on a car I installed a vafc on the other day. Even at full throttle it read 90% or so and partial throttle was not accurate. I did a volt reading off the ecu and it was way off when comparing to the vafc. I have wired a dozen or more of these things and never had a problem. I would check the wiring and if its not it, give apexi a call, I am sure they would warranty it.

Thanks bro! I've been working alot lately and haven't had time to get in there and reconnect the wire. Hopefully that's all that's wrong. How lond did yours take you? I did mine myself and because I had to run to Radio Shack twice during the install AND wired one off the wires wrong the first time and had to redo it, mine took me a loooong *** time (4-5 hours).
