Default problem writting to rom chips with Moates Burn1

i can't seem to erase or write with the Atmel chips i have, model AT29C256-25DC 0D9102. it will read the chips fine though, just can't erase or write. i have a chip that came with the Moates kit and that chip works fine. are there certain chips that are not compatible with the moates burnner?

Craig told me that the problem could be that these chips are too slow for his firmware. i'm going to send him one of these chip so he could create a new firmware to support these chips.
