Ok here is the deal. I just recently had the turbo installed and before the install everything was fine but now that I am boosted the tach falls offline at about 7500. It will drop down and then kick up and flutter. The only constant is that at about 7500-7700 it drops. This happens with either a P-72 or P-73 if that matters I'm not sure. If anyone has experience please let me know what to do. If there are any other questions I will try to give you as much information as possible. TIA
The only problem I have is the damn thing moves to fast and is a blur up to 8,500 rpms. Sorry can't answer, but I thought some humor might help!
Ive seen this happen in so many cars...
Mine isnt even turbo yet but the stock tach decided to quit working altogether. At first for about a month it would flutter and be very inaccurate after 4000rpms. Then all of a sudden it just stopped working. I mean it doesnt matter because at 8000rpms it was a good 500rpms off anyways.

So are you saying that its just old and I need a new tach. It just seems funny that it only came about after the turbo install.
I have no clue why mine went out but it did. I have a 96 civic ex with a gsr motor and I dont know if it was the repetative pinging of the needle (stock only went to "8000" but in reality the needle hit past it when the engine hit 8000+ rpms). The stock tach is so inaccurate anyways. Dont sweat it.

if you had gauges/electronics installed, i'd check to make sure nothing eveything is connected or damaged.. maybe some connector/sensor is loose that connects to gauge cluster.. if you have helms manual, i'd check with help of that..
