Problem with VTEC engagement - LSVTEC
Ok, I am going down the road of the size of the oil feed line. I am using a -4an line off the 1/8 npt oil pressure on the block feeding to the 3/8 port on the head. I have read in some threads that people have switched to a -6an and that helped. Maybe I just need more volume. Do you think I need to change the feed line to -6an and us a 1/4 fitting to feed it off the oil filter (like the golden eagle kit) or maybe the port right on the oil pump... that one looks big. Can I just use a -6an line with 1/8 fittings? Should I change the feed location on the head from the 3/8 port to the 1/8 port?

Just an update. I contacted Golden Eagle and Earl on this issue and here is something I found out:
Jason,
I have seen this problem and have actually had it happen to me before. There are only 2 reasons that the oil pressure would be low.
1. The feed line is too small. IN the small line the pressure would be fine, but once it gets into the head, the pressure drop due to insufficient oil supply. The problem is this, the fittings that you are grabbing the oil from ( the pressure sensor ) does not allow for a large enough port to flow oil through. Even if you upgrade the line size, the fittings do not have a large enough hole in them to make a difference.
2. Check to be 100% sure that the o-ring that sits between the head and the cam cap assembly ( center cam cap ) is there and in good condition. This is what supplies oil to the actual VTEC assembly and without it or if it is damaged oil will not be directed to the VTEC assembly efficiantly. Be sure that o-ring is there!!! ( cam caps and cams must be removed to check this )
I high suggest getting your oil supply from a different source. If you don't use our kits, then there are some others out there that can do the job, but do not use one's that grab oil from the pressure sensor port. Hope this helps.
Going to try to go with the -6an line as I am using -4an and the 1/8 ports. They use 3/8 ports.

Just put on the Golden Eagle oil sandwich adapter and the -6AN line and that was it! I did not get enough volume out of the -4an line.
