Default problem with vafc (i think)

this is my first post, i've been reading posts for a long time, but never really registered or replyed, by far one of the most informative sites i've stumbled upon.

well i installed my vafc about 6 months ago and was working perfectly fine, but about 2 weeks ago, i noticed the display went off, but the buttons were still glowing orange, then i look again later and the display is back on again. all this time the vafc working fine, like if nothing had happened except for the display to go off. now sometimes the display works, but the there is a fuel cut off at exactly 6.5k, sometimes it goes away, sometimes it comes back, sometimes the display comes off, sometimes it doesnt. i already checked all the wiring to the ecu twice and everything is perfect. when i unplug and re-plug the vafc from the harness it works for a while, then starts busting up sometimes a couple minutes later, sometimes 2 days later. what could this be? thanks a lot in advance. btw im going to be boosting in about 1 month and im scared that this problem will make my motor blow or something since i plan on running the vafc hack, this is for a 00 civic si

Make sure you SOLDER ALL your VAFC connections. Do a simple test, if u can get hold of another VAFC that u know is fully working, just plug that in n see if it still does it.

Sounds like maybe your plug has some loose wires. Check and make sure they are tight in the conector. If they are try what swlabhot said. If that doesn't work your VAFC is probably fried.
