problem with super charger- white smoke out exhaust
Im looking for any insite or ideas for my problem. Basically I had put on a JRSC for a d16z6. I was bleeding the radiator so the car was idling and so after about 5 minutes white smoke started comming out of the exhaust. It never smoked or burned coolant or oil at all when it was stock. So I put it back to stock and its still smoking like crazy (white smoke) at idle. I used a felpro gasket is there any chance its defective? It looked fine to me I just hope its not a headgasket. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Sorry - Sounds like head gasket..
Check for residue (oily) on surface of water in radiator (after removing cap)
Also check if bubbles coming up through the radiator -- Tell tale sign..
Headgaskets aren't THAT hard to replace, but the problem lies in if its an old engine the rings might be cooked anyhow and by removing the carbon deposit / seal when replacing the headgasket will make it **** smoke lol -- Learned this with my old Ford Laser (Mazda 323). Had to rebuild the engine then, but it was due anyhow.
Could you have warped the head ???

I doubt I could have warped the head. Ran fine before and I just let it idle with the supercharger on and I didnt rev it at all. With the cap off it does look like he coolant is bubbling and it wants to jump out.

if it is your head gasket, you would get milky colour on your dipstick (coolant mixes with oil in the galleries). Last time when I start my car, after 2 mins, white smoke/steam but no pungent smell stuff comes out of my exhaust;
My PCV valve was shut, and I was running too rich on idle. I fixed both of problem, no more white smoke.
But hey, could be a head problem.

If you didn't clean the surfaces off perfectly, there's a change the copper ring around the coolant port was left on and causing coolant to get into cylinder #4. Pull the plugs and see which cylinder it seems to be coming from. One or more plugs will not look the same.

this was what I thought it may be. the original intake mani gasket had a copper ring that looked like it was seperate from the gasket. The felpro gasket did not have this ring. Also I made sure to clean the surface

i had the same problem.. Did it shoot out alot of white smoke then your car started to idle badly and the motor would overheat? That happend to me when installed my jrsc on my z6. I accidently switch the vacum hose with a coollant hose so the coolant ran into the intake manifold which caused it to smoke alot and would over heat cuz all the coolant from the raditor is empty. Im an idiot lol but check that.

That ring is a crush ring that helps seal the cylinders. stick to oem headgasket no copper spray torqued to spec in proper sequence.

Sounds like either your HG happened to go at the same time as you did the install... or the weight of the SC may have caused the head to lift a little in one corner allowing some coolant into one of the cylinders.
How many miles on the engine? has the head ever been off? if so was it re-torqued properly?
