Remove transmission.
Remove OBX LSD.
Place OBX LSD in garbage.
Problem solved. I would invest in a phantom grip over an OBX anyday.

Re: problem ..OBX LSD (cubish)
this happens alot. i have one in my hatch i just bought. the person i got it from has had this happen to him before but with a quaife. to get it out you have to take out the other axle and hit it out with a punch and a hammer. it will break the snap ring in half. just take a magnet to get it out. he didint say any thing about it not going in though. try hitting it harder.

Re: problem ..OBX LSD (mexicansi)
from reading those other posts and from past posts with the obx diff being loose and stuff when new in the box...
why arent people just taking theirs apart when they get them to inspect/tighten stuff?? I dont understand this. why more people arent taking theirs apart and checking it before installing it.
precaution = prevention
Probably the problem this guy has is what I was reading on the other threads...the one axle retainer in the diff got beveled from the factory while the one he's having a hard time with....didnt.
thus instead of having a beveled lip to help squeeze the c-clip down for removal. the damn clip is just hitting a flat wall and not doing anything.
Time to destroy that c-clip somehow. hardened steel probably so good luck with that.
I'd definitely recommend people take these units apart when they get them and check for the bevels and if they arent present...grind them in with a dremel or air grinder.
One last thing I'm curious about is whether you could actually take your stock open diff axle carriers and swap them into this unit? I know on ford 9" diffs, chevy 10 bolts, and dana's you can do this. Cant imagine why this wouldnt be possible in this case either? Generally the only difference in an open diff and similar locker is that instead of the 4 spider gears, the differential will have a clutchpack setup or toothed slip gear setup.
