problem with new turbo

Default problem with new turbo

i just moved the housings on the turbo to the position i needed to install the exhaust mani and intercooler piping and know the turbo has alittle shaft play. is that normal or did i just **** up my turbo . also can the oil seals be messed up know?

Is your turbo new or has it been installed before? If it is not new, there may be some crud in there preventing the housings from closing back together properly. Take it back apart and make sure the inside channel is clean before reassembling.

the turbo is brand new and never been installed just got it from precision a week ago

It's fine to have a small bit of shaft play side to side, as long as the blades do not touch the walls of the turbo, it should be fine.

when you loosen up the clocking bolts thats when you can feel a little shaft play.
