pro 1's or stock 97 spec itr cams?
my car is torn down for the winter and i can get a set of skunk2 pro1's pretty cheep. i know the only real way to tell if im going to benefit from the cams is on the dyno but i dont want to change the cams out after the car is back together. i currently have 97 itr cams in my car now. this is the setup.
Benson sleeved b18c1 .. 83mm cp pistons - eagle rods 3/8 bolts - p72 head - 97 spec itr cams - freera springs retainers and 1mm oversize valves - jg elelbrock mani with bbk 70mm t/b full-race twin scroll with borg s366xl. i dont want to waste money and time if they are not going to help much over the itr's. they will be degreed to tdc. thanks for any help

Can you get me a set too. Its def an upgrade. You can always sell you itr cams to get money back spent on the pros. Someone will buy them.

the current head on the car has stock sized valves now. so i might just have to go with the current head and ditch the idea of getting the other one

pro 1's FTW. just be careful with if you are running oversized valves. you should be ok with pro1's though as long as you don't go crazy adjusting the gears.

The Skunk2 Pro 1's without a doubt.. They make power over ITR cams hands down.. Check out this graph, both runs at the same boost level, ITR cams vs. Sk2 Pro 1's..

You will be fine with oversized vales, just make sure your compression isn't too high, and that you check all your clearances. Get the PRO 1's Justin.

pro 1's here...
395hp @ 10.9psi easy hp!!!
the bad wont pass the smog cuz you have to degreed them too much to make power
and eratic idle, my car sounds like a harley motorcycle when idleling...
overall: great camshafts
hey guys i was told by a friend that, if your boosting 15psi (gsr camshaft) making 400hp vs 12psi (pro1's) making 400hp the block gets the same abuse...
it's that true??

What settle-in time?
Were both runs done in the same ramp and settle-in times?
Do you have a copy of the graph with the 'Show Data' option clicked on the DynaPack?

EDIT: Sorry if this is a bit nosey of me, I'm just curious. :D

Keep in mind guys. When you install these cams, and if you want to see a difference like Jake did. You need to degree the cams! It will make your life easier. Make sure you have someone that knows how to degree them, help you.
