Default prices on overboring

i just got my pistons and rods and i got them .20 overbore. and i thought a local machine shop would be able to get the job done, but the shop where i take my car said they have to have my block sent out to have it done. does anyone know how much this costs and how long it takes. i have an ls. i asked a guy that works there and he said he wasnt sure.
