Default prepping for ZEX

hey guys...i am adding a 55 shot of nitrous to my car this week...i am only using the 55 and nothing more...i even threw away the other jets so no temptations...
what do i need to do to my car first???...i ordered the ZEX spark plugs, but do i need to do any type of fuel upgrades?? such as fuel pump, FPR, injectors, rails whatever...

i have heard that with only the 55 shot my stock fuel setup is fine...

any comments???

All that you need is a set of NGK BKR7E plugs gapped at .035-.030. A purge kit and bottle heater will also make your runs more consistent.

Send the Plugs back, I'm a witness. Use the NGK's they work well. There is no need to retard timing for 55shot. 65shot 2 degrees, 75 shot 4 degress retard. The instructions will tell you everything you need.

My Zex plugs worked fine, but some people have had problems with them. My reasons for not using them are as follows:
1. Zex plugs = $20+
NGK BKR7Es =$8
2. Zex plugs are two steps colder than stock, which hurts power output and means that they'll foul otu quicker. The BKR7Es are only 1 step colder.

You shouldn't have thrown out the other jets! I got bored of the 55 shot real quick. A B16A2 block would have held the 75 shot perfectly fine. All you would have needed is a fuel pump and an fpr. My D16 block has been holding it for a little more than a year now. Once it's built I'm going to run 100 shot and maybe 125 shot.

Why would it be anymore likely to melt a valve over any other kit, including wet kits? By the way the Zex plugs suck, IMO.

HELP??????????????????????[/QUOTE

That is correct you don't need to upgrade anything for a 55 shot. I ran it for over 2 years 3 bottles a week sometimes with not 1 problem. And for a year I didn't even upgrade my spark plugs and it was a 75 shot and i advanced my timing. I guess i was lucky i was trying to blow the motor because i had a b18b at home ready with turbo
