precision sc61 varieties and finding it
i'm shooting for 500-550whp on a fully buit b20vtec setup.
the turbo i THINK i'm going to get is the precision sc6152e, which is good till 6xx i think?
so i figure it'll be right in it's efficiency range w/ my power level. would you guys agree that'll be a good choice?
now i can't find a place to order the sc61 that i want. i want a v band exhaust housing and the upgraded compressor (can't remember what it's called), but everywhere i look doesn't have any options for this turbo, any place you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance

yes but no more than 550ishwhp on a mustang dyno. that housing won't be too laggy? or will it be just right? i don't want to over do it just so i can say i have a ported housing and end up with an inferior setup

The more you open it up the laggier it gets. Get the smallest
a/r. probably .63 with the sc61 and it would feel somewhat better. The sc61 have a range for HP 630-680- Get the 630hp one and you should be straight...

I bought my SC61 from forcedinductions last year. The unit was nice and spooled pretty decent. This year I'm going with a custom 62mm unit from them as well that is good for another 100hp more, though my motor won't take it yet.

The unit ended up costing me 1199, but it flows 70lbs/min versus the standard GT stuff is 61lbs/min and spools a tad quicker as well and its not even ball bearing. These new wheels are awesome.....but whistle like a freight train though . I paid 720 for my SC61 though from them when I bought it.

I have a picture of the new style compressor wheels that have come out that they sent me. I just don't know how to post a picture of it.

I see that you are getting a Borg Warner S362 with the extended tip compressor wheel.

Re: (Mr Wonderfull)
Mr Wonderfull, where did you get the pics of the exhaust side of that turbo? They look identical to the pics I took of my turbo, same desk, same printer, same tape measure!

Re: precision sc61 varieties and finding it (TTT)
This is a custom unit done by forcedinductions.com, but I know they do alot of stuff for Borg Warner so it maybe something along those lines.

Re: (Mr Wonderfull)
I'm wondering, how your PT61 =61mm unit can have a GT40 wheel in it when the GT40 is only a 58 inducer or a 65mm inducer. Also they use threaded compressor wheels with a hex head on the GT40's, and not a threadless bore style wheel which is what the 61's come with?

Re: (Mr Wonderfull)
You should be able to hit 600 with it. It should spool rather quickly on that engine also. I'm using a pt67 on a built 2.0 but I have yet to drive it. Just got it running a week ago and just got axles in it last week. I'm curious to see how it works out, the whole car that is, lol.

Re: precision sc61 varieties and finding it (CivicVX94)
you could get one like this:
SC6152S:
.70AR S cover (non ported)
.82AR 4 bolt t3 exhaust housing
porting of the housing is for running LOWER hp, it will actually hurt top end.
and you are in luck!!! check my sig
i got that turbo for my 600hp build but i am selling it because i now have a 700hp goal. BRAND NEW.
