It will be really laggy. but if you plan on upgrading later on it's a really good turbo.

too much turbo for 7psi, wont see full boost till after 6k on a stock b16a. and 3rd gear is pretty much boostless

What about a stock b16 that revs out higher though like say to 9k? I have to use my SC61 on my B16 backup block until my b18c block gets back from vacation.

SC34 is pretyt nice on a B16.. but SC50 or SC32 would be awesome as well

probably an sc34 for a street driven car

same deal. if you rev it higher then you should be ok. but you are still gonna hve the lag problem. pretty much an na car till 5k when it starts to build positive manifold pressure

my friend ran an sc61 on a stock B16 made 270 at the wheels on 9lbs ran it up to 12-13lbs a time or to but never dyno'd or tuned it for that and ran low 13's on 9lbs with it. it did take a while to spool but it ripped pretty good fun on the freeway

Man the SC61 is a great turbo for a b16. I have a JDMB16 with a sc61 on it tuned on 12psi by mase and IT FLYS.. Hybridhatch has a b16a2 with a sc61 on it tuned on 10psi by precisionh23a and it pulls hard as hell.. neither one has been dyno'd but Im guessing there making 300whp.. both are tuned with hondata.

The cars dont have that much lag at all.. fully spooled by 5400...

I completely disagree.....I ran an sc61 w/ drag manifold on my stock b16a and the car made 286 whp @ 7 psi. Yes, is was a bit laggy, but nothing too terrible. The car ran 12.82@111 btw.

so you ran it at the track... lag dosnt really matter at the track. if i had a car with a turbo that laggy i would never even bother to drive it on the strret. it wouldnt be any fun. boost would be like a light switch

It wasn't bad on the street either......I used to always smoke cars with faster e.t.'s and trap speeds than me . I also raced plenty of other turbo Hondas running smaller turbos and destroyed them (on the street and track). I loved the SC61 on my stock b16

I agree, that is a much nicer turbo, but almost twice the price. That will probably be my next turbo, but the sc61 is doing me just fine right now.

I ran an SC61 on my old old 81.5mm B16 and it was a buttload of fun on the street.

as far as using an SC-61 on a stock b16...it will work fine, but i guess it is a bit overkill, but i like big turbos myself so i would definitely do it

thats what i want...i just picked up a b16 for my hatch and i want a gt 35r for it

if anyone has a gt 35r and wants to trade for a PT-71 GTQ, then check out this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1306160

thats a pretty small a/r...this one is an .81 a/r, which i guess is big to some people but if you are going to run over 30 psi and have a 10K + redline then it will work great

I just want to sell/trade it since I have decided to use the ITS GT-76 on one car and I want the GT 35R for my daily driver, or I would use an SC-61, but ball bearings are better

yeah, probably would be a bit laggy for the street

my car with the 76mm turbo is going to be street driven, but not as a daily driver...that is if i ever get the damn thing put together
