Default Precision SC61?

I have an older style SC61 I believe it is 6152E .60AR cold side .63AR hot side. My question is can I swap the .63 housing for a larger housing to produce more power? If so what size housing is offered? I know there was a E and an S housing...what is so different between the two? Where can I find different housings?

You have the SC6152, which uses the smaller 2.559" turbine wheel (aka "stage III") that is used on the smaller series of most "T3/T04E" configurations. Switching housings may help with top end power, but only a bit. It really just shifts the power curve up so that the top end power comes in at a high rpm. Because the turbine wheel is mismatched to the compressor wheel of the SC61, the turbine wheel is still going to be stressed to get the higher end 500+ whp that most people look for when getting the SC61. In fact, based upon the new line up, the SC6152 is no longer offered. Only the SC6165 SC6169 are now offered.

The best thing to do if you want much more top end power is to swap out that smaller turbine wheel and get a T350 Stage 5 or P-trim wheel (used in the SC6169 and SC6176 respectively). Again, going to a larger .82 A/R with what you have now will do little since the turbine wheel / shaft is still the same size and has the lower efficiency needed for top end power.

Thank you for your input. Any idea on how much power is possible by swapping out the turbine wheel or doing both the larger housing + the larger turbine wheel? Also where excatly can I find someone who deals precision turbo wheels/housings...direct from Precision?
Thanks.

There are those close to 700whp with the change up to the larger exhaust wheels (In the "S" compressor cover). Thiswould be in a .82A/R T3 flange.

You would pretty much pay for the wheel/turbine shaft, Turbine housing, and assembly.

You can go through Precision direct or a precision dealer for the upgrade. PM me for locations
