Re: precision sc34 vs. garrett gt28r? (Ricer4life15)
if you run only 8-9psi i would take the GT28R if money is not the problem...
i will get my sc34 soon... but i'am looking for a bit higher hp numbers then you with 8-9psi ... but i will drive it with 9psi until my block is finished... then i can tell you some about the spoolup...

yeah if the gt2871r interest you also, and can't make up your mind. Talk to tony the tiger, he used to run the gt28rs and now has the gt2871r he can give you some good opinions.

well i dont want to have to do any real engine modification, i just want to turbo my stock b16, in which case you cant really push it more than 250hp i dont think and a gt28r would be plenty no? is anyone selling a gt28rs on here?

B16's can make more than 250whp safely

This page says that its good to 350hp and thats what I presumed sinceits a popular street turbo application.,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW
But what I don't understsand is that its similar to a T25 however how can it get 350 hp whereas a normal NON-ball bearing T25 is nowhere near that high hp output.

well
the gt25r is entirely too small for a bseries motor, might be fun on a dseries...but i dont see it being that productive on a bseries.
the gt28r on my b18c1 makes roughly 8 psi by 3200
ive seen charts of a gt28rs with the .82 t3 drop in from atp hittin around 4000 with 14 psi kickin hard. the 28rs really depends on what a/r configuration you get.
the sc34..from what ive seen...is similar to most t3/t4 turbochargers, and i think its hittin full boost in the low 4000 range..like 4200 or so...not 100% sure on that

In my opinion a single cam vtec is near the same as a b16 as far as spool it only makes sense..the b16 prolly wins by a little because of better VE.(in terms of spool not power.) my T3 super 60 on d16y8 seems to be dying up top. i dont have alot of experience so im not totally sure..im looking into a gt28rs or 71r still researching

a gt28rs and a super 60 flow very similar numbers. you'll want to look at the larger 71r or ever the 3071r.
