Precision Billet CEA 5831
Anyone running this turbo? Done a search but couldn't find any info on here regarding this turbo. I found a thread on the 5857 turbo but seems there discontinued? The 5831 is rated to 500hp(I assume flywheel figures?)

Re: Precision Billet CEA 5831
There was good reports on the 5857 so just looking for info on the 5831. I know turbo failure can come down to a lot of things including poor oil feed/return so probably isn't worth asking if there are reliabilty issues with these turbo's.

Like you said, with anything, failures are typically with installation, oil, etc. However, some can argue with conviction that there are some problems attributed to them based upon materials and workmanship, others say its just bad luck. Definitely better than eBay, may not be as usable as some other companies. but you won't really find any full yay or naysayers on this. You'll have a lot of bumps that say that have it and work fine. you'l have others that say that this particular model didn't have any issues, though they will say that it may represent issues from other models, and there are plenty of write-ups to back that up.. But no one can predict that for this model OR your situation.. hard to say. Take care of the turbo, and it should take care of you..
Does it perform for what it says? sure. Is it the "fastest spooling?" who knows. will it last forever? Will you keep the car forever? again, hard to say. Will precision cover anything if something happens to it? no. but neither would any turbo company of merit.
Bottom line is you have a better shot of using it for the needs than ebay would for the money and for the job. Give it a shot and see.
