Default precision 6262 v band

hey guys am ordering a 3'' v band flange for my turbo but i read somewhere that universal v band flanges don't fit the ex housing ans that a precision v band flange is needed..

can any one confirm this to be true?

i dont think this is true.. i just tried the universal v band clamp on my 67-68 and it fit like a glove.. just make sure you have the right size v-band clamp i guess

ATP sells flanges that have always fit up to anything ive have. Ive had 2.5, 3" and 4" flanges from there, all fit perfect. I had an ebay flange once and i had to grind it down because it was way to big. Probably an 1/8th inch larger on the diameter. When i tightened the clamp tight to the exhaust flange it wouldnt even grip the turbine housing. It was a pain. Do it right and get a good, well made flange. Dont go with eBay.

the t3's use 2.5" and the t4's use 3". universals will work fine, made a downpipe for one yesterday. the flanges PTE sells for the T4 can use a t3 tube (fits like crap) or a 3.5" tube that fits well. their flanges are pretty pricey

that makes sense. mine is definitely 2.5" and its t3. i did buy an atp stainless flange that allows a 3" pipe to be welded to the 2.5" flange without a transition. very convenient

For the t3 housing you have to use the "2.5" atp clamp and flange (even though its actually a bit larger than 2.5). I had to buy a clamp from them but the flange I got from Precision already so I didnt have to mess with buying that part.

The T4 housings use the "3.0" atp clamp and flange.

They call it a 2.5" on ATP and alot of other sites but it is a bit larger, its just shy of a 3" really.

so the atp 2.5" flange/clamp is actually the 2.75 that the 6262 needs?

I ordered and am using this ATP vband clamp (as I linked above) for my t3 6265... it is indeed the one they call 2.5" despite it being actually slightly larger size. Fits perfect.

This is the matching flange to it per ATP, although I have not used this one since I already had one from Precision that shipped with my turbo.

I bought the genuine Precision flange for my 6265, and I was glad I did. It is a super nice piece that 3" tube fits over like a glove, with a nice overlap for easy welding by a hack like me. For an extra 10 bucks or whatever it may have been, it was worth it!

Oh, I just looked at that link to ATP, and I think the Precision one was cheaper than that by quite a bit. Now I'm really glad I chose that option.

No Limit Motorsports in the Sponsor's Only section also carries the "2.5 inch" flange & clamp assembly, that's where I ordered mine from for my T3 6262.

My 6262 uses a 3in vband I got the vband clamp and weld on piece from RC it would accommodate a 2.5 or 3in dp. I remember talking to Danz and his was a 2.5 kind of wierd this is a t3 82
