Pre Start-up Checklist

Pre Start-up Checklist
I am nearing the completion of my first motor build and swap ever (boosted) and I was wondering what I should do or look over and check before i start it up, the motor is completely dry. i am not sure how much oil to put in there being that it is completely empty and for coolant, do i have to get it to the waterpump so when i start the motor there is fluid there? how will I prime my oil feedline? anything else i should check for or do? Thanks

put in 4 quarts of oil assuming you have a stock oil system(non synthetic), make sure all hose clamps are on, all vacuum hoses are connected, battery cables and grounds are connected properly. Double check all AN fittings, and fuel fittings/connections, make sure nothing is laying on the exhaust. Fill the cooling system with a 50/50 mix of glycol @ water. Turn it over without the fuel pump fuse in, that will prime the oil system including your turbo supply line. Install the fuse and start her up. Mine started immediately after my rebuild, everything was perfect including static timing. If you do your prep work, you should have absolutely no issues.

Everything said is good. It's a good idea to start up with a wideband, and tune your idle A/F immediately.

Enable closed loop to not worry about that.
Make sure to prime the engine well. I did 3 cranks for about 5-7 seconds each and by the last one the oil light was shutting off (meaning oil pressure is starting to form). Turn the car on and immediately go out to the engine to check for oil/fuel leaks. Then start adjusting your timing at the dizzy with the service port in a short circuit (so 16* is the only timing available).

Fuel Management is a crome chipped P28 by Phearable. I dont have a wideband.... yet. I just want to get it running for now. my dizzy is set at stock settings. its a 15g turbo with stock 5.5psi boost settings. i will have it turned up to like 10 when i take it in to have it dyno tuned

Re: Pre Start-up Checklist (bmw626)
so i primed the motor and all and started it up and it ran for about 5 minutes with a decent idle and i noticed a noise of something leaking so i look under the car and see oil coming out from where my oil filter is. it turned out its my oil T for my feedline. i have to wait till tomorrow to work on it cuz its dark. but when i installed the t adapter into the block, it only turned like 2.5 turns before it was really tight. i didn't know what or what not to put teflon tape on so i taped all my threads ( threads to block, threads to oil sensor, and threads to the t adapter thing.) i didn't tape the threads to the oil feedline to the T though. how many times should that fitting turn before being tight all the way? should i force it tighter?

Re: Pre Start-up Checklist (bmw626)
are you running the T-adapter directly mounted onto the block?
if so, u shouldn't do it like that, add an extra line from the adapter to the block.

I am running the Fast-Turbo Oil Feedline kit. can i just put the oil feedline directly to the block? or do i absolutly have to have that oil sensor?
