Default Powerband effect on ET and trap?

Ok, I've been scratching my head for a while on this one. My last run at the track was a shitty run...but it was an 11.80@124. Missed shift and bogged launch. ANYHEW. I'm making 394Whp and 387 ft lbs.... now my honda buddy is making 365 whp on a B16....but he runs 11.2@118-120 I'm not spinning at all with my slicks, but its hard to think I could drop .6 just from a clean pass...AND FURTERMORE since I do make more hp and TONS more torque...why I'm not Faster than he is. I know gear ratios play a role in this, but I'm thinking it may have something to do with the powerband.

like the guy with teh Greddy kit. small turbine spools quick makes 300... he ran an 11.9@117.

It could be that I just need to get a 1.66 60' like before and make every shift down the track before I go thinking to much...but It still makes me wonder, if peak power is where its at for drag racing.

if you have a wide powerband with torque down low you will have to have slicks to get good times and of course a smooth run and good gears

but i have lag like and dont build boost till 3 or 3500 .... i launch at 3500 on my ls get traction build boost spin through first catch ssecond and just hook up

running toyo proxes with 20 lbs of air btw and i run consistent 2.2 and 2.1 60 foots within 2 times at track practicing

imo id rather have a lil lag for launch with street tires then have full boost and just spin em
