When would posting be needed? On an N/A engine with out sleeves? Would a sleeved FI engine benefit?

With these posts installed, if the cylinder walls are going to move, they have to move the outside walls of the block too, so they add a tremendous amount of strength, making the block capable of withstanding a lot of abuse. This modification also has no ill effect on cylinder cooling.</TD></TR></TABLE> http://www.homemadeturbo.com/t....html http://www.muller.net/sonny/crx/engine/posted.html

Really? I was just toying with the idea for a junkyard block, to add a bit of strength. I am not about to drill and tap my non junkyard block.
