Ok.. 01 GSR just all of a sudden doesnt run. The plugs keep fouling out. It barely idles at like 300rpm...stock fuel pressure regulator at 42psi...if i floor it at idle, nothing happens..the rpms dont really move much at all. Stock pump..stock injectors...this just happened out of the blue. Tried new plugs...different regulator..different ecu...nothing works. any help at all would be greatly appreciated. thanks
BTW: all sensors are plugged in...no wiring was messed with...this just happened. The car saturday morning bogged a little in first. We started the car saturday night...it started fine..idled fine for about 2-3 mintues then dropped down to like 300rpm for a second or two and then just shut off, and the car barely runs ever since.
Then later that night it would barely start. what do u guys think?

are you getting a check engine light? if so , check the code... if you dont know how PM me.. problem could be numerous things... heres my oppinion of what you should check..
Gas cap.. i know this sounds dumb, but if it doesnt seal right, you could get bad fuel pressure..although you did mention that you had 42 psi of fuel so this may not be your problem
Check the fuel injectors, check the wiring of the fuel injectors...
Do a compression check just to make sure there are no mechanical problems with the motor.
Could also be a vacuum leak somewhere... a vacuum leak might cause a problem like this depending on the severity, so check all the vacuum hoses .. check the hoses that go to the FPR (fuel pressure reg.) ... check the coolant lines, if you have a bubble in the coolant in the radiator it could cause choppy idle.. CHeck the Throttle position sensor, check the map sensor, take out the idle air control valve and clean it , check the fuel filter..

no check engine lights. gas cap is tight. injectors and wiring are stock and fine. did compression check...180 accross the board. the car is an 01' w/ only 35k miles on it. We got the car brand new. The car never once had a problem. We started the car saturday night...it started fine..idled fine for about 2-3 mintues then dropped down to like 300rpm for a second or two and then just shut off, and the car barely runs ever since.
how would a distributor go bad on a brand new car after 35k miles? i know that it was getting spark b/c i pulled one plug wire out at a time to make sure the tone changed to make sure i was getting spark.

Sounds to me like you got water in your gas. Put some dry gas in see if that helps.
If you have access to a helms they give you step by step on how to test your distributor and also your icm and so on. Are you sure your motor is not flooded with gas?
But it sounds to me like you got water in your gas or maybe even your fuel filter is clogged. Same symptoms I had on one of my cars.

How exactly do u get water in your gas? I highly doubt its the distributor or the icm..the car only has 35k miles on it. This did happen after we put a full tank of gas in there. But how would either of these things make the plugs foul out and turn completely black?

Well not sure where you live but a few gas places around where I live are notorious for getting water in their gas. The one place had gotten a lot in their tank and me along with a bunch of my friends all got bad gas. We had to drain out tanks b/c dry gas just would not take care of it.
Some times if your car goes from really cold to really hot will cause condensation and that will get a little water in your gas. I would just try a can of dry gas and change your fuel filter. It should cost you like 10 bucks see if that helps.
Oh and the reason why it would foul out your plugs is b/c water does not ignite. So if water is in with the gas it will kill your spark plug. And you will prob keep cranking your car filling the motor with gas while your plugs are not igniting the fuel.

Where did you buy the gas from?
Drain the gas tank from the drain plug...put in a couple of gallons of fresh fuel with some dry gas, change plugs and start it.
See how that works.

its modded. i'm not gonna take it to the dealer. I think thats gonna be my only other option right now. i'll change out the gas and throw in a bottle of heat (dry gas)....b/c this problem started occuring right after we filled the tank up. It was shell 93 we put it. i'll give that a shot i guess

Definately try this if the dealer is your last option, sounds like BAD gas to me,and if thats the case the dealer will make you pay for fixing it anyway

Re: posted here...b/c the turbo peeps are smart..HELP (hXc-B16EF)
bad gas wasnt the problem....i dont believe its the fuel filter, b/c i have my 42 psi fuel pressure. Heres what happens..... i start the car and hold the throttle fully open....it idles at 500rpm and then after like 10-15 seconds it'll finally starts to rise when holding it at full throttle. Its like a huge delay trying to get it to rev up...almost like there is some sort of restriction....??? if u take your foot off the gas it just dies then

-new fuel filter
-different o2 sensor
-different coil
-new map sensor
-TPS is reading
-new plugs
-different injectors
-new gas
-checked timing (have pics if anyone wants to see)
-compression check (180 accross the board)
-etc. anything u can think of i've tried allread
i used my hondata to log it on hondalogger if anyone wants to see that...i'll send it to you....lemme know
HELP HELP HELP
below is my timing at basically TDC...the cam gears are basically in the exact same position and nothing looks out of place.

has anyone tampered with your hondata? did u accidently make any changes to it.
Or you could try your idle screw on your throttle body.
Checked the dizzy are you getting a strong spark on all 4 cylinders?

Re: (JDMlifestyle)
this is happening on a stock ECU. I just used my hondata to datalog it. No codes at all. How do i know if i getting a "strong" spark on all four? I did change out the coil...and still the same thing. idle screw did nothing.
