Stock B16A motor, intercooled vortech kit, FMU for a little while and then hondata. Realized how retarded I was for buying into the hype on ClubSI about how good the Vortech is, and how everybody was talking about how Vortech (or should I say VORTURD) blowers and superchargers in general give you great low end power which I felt my B16 was lacking. Nothing but disapointment from it, it was expensive as **** (I could have had a FULL-RACE turbo kit with a ball bearing GT-series turbo for the same price) the awesome low end power that was ranted and raved about was totally non existant, the blower hardly made boost at low RPM's, the top end power wasn't great, I couldn't get belts to stay on, the whine at idle annoyed me, the heat exchanger was too small and the IC got heated up very quick, and even the top end power was shitty. Took a big loss when I sold the kit, went turbo, and could not be happier. A vortech blower gives you all of the disadvantages typically associated with blowers (parasitic drag off the crank, having to change pulleys to swap boost, more stress on front main bearings, etc) but none of the advantages of roots blowers like the great low end torque and boost response, it gives you a compressor like a turbocharger although none of the advantages of the turbo. My opinion? Run, don't walk, as far away from a vortech blower as you can. I totally regret purchasing it in the first place.
