Default Possible to use a BOV as a wastegate??

My buddy is going to be using the kraft works supercharger. We need a way to control boost and maybe be able to use boost-by-gear. I could just use an older 38mm Tial wastegate on the piping but its heavy and not nice on the eyes. Now I am wondering if I could make a bov work as a wastegate. Is this possible?

No. A BOV works under the opposite effect. To keep the valve closed until vacuum.

Would the bov stay closed under boost if there was no boost line fed to it?

It could work as a pop-off valve if adjusted properly. My friend's RX7 did that @ 15psi to a Greddy BOV that was nearly all the way loosened

Greddy makes an adjustable pop-off valve

I've seen many use a wastegate as a BOV because of the high amount of pressures that the Drag car sees (over 60psi + of boost pressure). but definately not the other way around. it doesn't work well that way. And even then, on a turbocharger, not a self contained supercharger

I'm pretty sure there are bypass valves designed for this purpose.
