No, those ports are for transmission fluid to flow through. No coolant comes out of those ports.

are you sure cause i was reading on this other site and they were talking about it here his exact words "ive heard if you get an auto tranny civic radiator it has coolant nipples at the bottom of the radiator for the tranny" and then he said "i dont know how else to explain it, but if you want a write up on it, honda tuning magazine did it a long time ago, i still got the issue, thats what i whent by for my home made setup"....... im not doubting you its just that i wan to be 100% sure...

No coolant runs in those two nipples at the bottom of the raditator. Just ATM fluid

Yeah I was thinking of plugin some oil lines into the rad but I think the oil will be to hot. Anybody ever try this as an oil cooler?

should work the same as if you were running trans. fluid through it.

I would think oil would be alot hotter than tranny fluid though.

My OEM oil cooler just has two coolant lines running through a "sandwich adapter" where the oil filter goes. I think running it directly to the rad may be a bit much.

Well, that'd be the point....the coolant will pull heat from the oil, cooling the oil.

I would think the rad would blow out if it had oil lines running to it, the rad portion is at 13-16psi, oil pressure can be upwards of 100psi. Im pretty sure auto trannys dont push 100psi

The other problem - the pump. The auto tranny has its own pump to move the fluid. If you used it for cooling the turbo, you'd have to spend quite a bit on a decent pump. If for cooling engine oil, you'd have much worse pressure drop than a normal cooler, it would be less effective than a normal oil cooler, and it may not take the pressure.

It's good to see the info in here. I was debating on while doing my manual swap plumbing some oil lines to the tranny cooler portion. I was unsure if the pressure would be too great and I really rocky on if my Y8 oil pump would be up for it anyway. This helped alot to sway me away from it.
