For the turbo guru's
Is it possible for oil to creap by the seals on the exhaust side of the turbo only once in a while. No particular action brings this on that I know of, somedays I will drive all day with no smell. Then others when I stop at a light I will smell oil and it instantly goes away.
I've been to lazy to pull the downpipe so far.
When the turbo seals take a **** do they "TAKE A ****" or maybe leak once in a while.
I've never seen any smoke, run without a cat, and can't find a spot of oil anywhere

Yes, it is not only possible but very likely that the rear seal goes gradually. I have also seen where built up carbon around the rear seal causes it to leak oil.
If you have no oil smoke, and only smell, you might want to look for an external engine oil leak. Maybe something around the exhaust manifold or running down and falling on the exhaust or a leaky oil return line on the turbo running down onto the exhaust housing.
