Default POrting tool elec and porting bits question ??

Curious guys who use electric 1/4" air grinder type tool to port. Ive seen alot of guys using electric air grinders. Ive been looking for them but no luck.

Also who sells long carbide bits online?

FWIW:

My Bud and I have done a fair amount of porting on various motors, two and four stroke from Karts, snowmobiles, ATV's and cars. All aluminum heads. Great results.

A few years back we did his GSR head and it worked quite well.

Having said that, we've been using a Dremel tool with a flexshaft and a foot control.

Craytex for smoothing exhaust. Stones and bits and lots of WD-40 for texturizing intake.

I've used 1/4 electric grinders and prefer the Dremel for control on aluminum. Cast iron would be different.

Bit sources:

MSC-Direct
Enco
Standard Abrasives

And, if I remember right, Widgets

Have fun.

OK. Check this out:

Sears has one also. I had one years ago that lasted one 6 cylinder head.
