Talk with Tom over at portflow he can answer your question. If your looking to get the max power out of any setup then a port, and polish is necessary. I would also have the valvetrain upgraded at the same time so you can extend the redline...

Re: port and polish (rub760)
well for a number of N/A applications a P&P isn't needed since the heads flow very well to begin with, along with the fact that a P&P job can be costly for some. on a N/A setup the head doesn't normally need much porting, just a clean up with some shaping, deshrouding the valves and a 3 or 5 angle valve job which is important to the flow of air.
but on a F/I head, since that's what you'll be using, you'll gain from porting the port mouths and doing some reshaping, including the combustion chambers. and the new valve angles as well.
talking to Portflow or another Pro head porter will answer the questions in a more detailed manner. of course to have the head done for your application and done correctly, you may pay a nice chunk of $$.
i personally have never paid to have my head done professionally done, only worked on it myself. cept for valve seats, a pro needs to do that so it's done precisely. but i'm not recommending you do it yourself either.
