polishing the turbo... need some help
I started polishing my turbo and after about 3-4 hours of sanding, i have taken off the rough outer casting and started with 400 grit... right now im ab out 90% out of 400 grit... i was wondering if i am here polishing for a high luster (shine) or for smoothness? or for a "same color" shine throughout? i have all these little grey speckles mixed throughout the "shiny" grey color... do these come out as i keep sanding or will they come out after polishing?

start w/ a lower grit, i did 200 hundred, then 300 , 450, and then used cardboard and finally copy paper (bothe cardboard and copy paper were w/ polishing creme). ppl will say what! paper, yes. it works, i polished/blitzed stuff for 2yrs in college..go figure. eventually it will smoothen then start lookn like dull steel..then get more luster to it.
if ur lazy use a dremel, i have plenty of pics of mine if ya need any refrence, hope this helps

this thing is looking like ***, or am i just getting impatient... i havn't worked on it for a couple of days.
another thought. Am i sanding for an even luster (shine) or am i doing this to just get it smooth? Mine is pretty smooth, it's just that the shine has a different appearance in some spots, will the red rouge make this all even or do i need to keep on sandin?
thanks,
Ryan

Damn man, I got mine looking fairly decent in a couple of hours. Used a die grinder with 100 grit, then hand sanded with 150, 200, 400, 600, 1200, 1500, 2000 and then finished with a buffing wheel and white rouge compound.
