Default polishing pistons, prep for install

Is there anything you should do to pistons before install? Some say to sand and sharpen them? Since im gonna reuse my old JE can i clean the tops with some wool?

You want to eliminate any sharp edges that can usually be found where the valve reliefs are cut and around the perimeter/top of the piston. Any area of the piston that isn't exposed to the combustion process isn't an issue so sandblasting would be a bit unnecessary. Some fine grit sandpaper is more than sufficient. And yes, steel wool can be used to clean off any carbon build up on the piston.
