PLX m300 install HELP
I want my plx m300 to replace my existing narrowband o2 sensor. I am tuning with uberdata and would like to datalog at some point. My question is which wire do i replace with...the gray or the white wire? Also on the plx website it says something about resistors for the o2 heater...what do i do about that...is it necessary???? Thanks guys

huh? you run a wideband wire from the blue box to the oem harness? or do u mean the signal??

white one is for wideband ouput used when datalogging
gray one is for narrowband output
i get power from the ecu wires
and i dont have the resitor but i do get a code 1 every now and then.

yes, you hook up the white wire to the 02 wire on the ecu. i forget what pin # it is. its in a post around here.
and yes uberdata has wideband suppoer. you need to check 2 boxes under misc, 02 heater and closed loop

I can't take this thread anymore. Get a switch, wire the output of the switch to the O2 sensor wire on your ECU. Then wire both the wideband and narrowband output of the PLX to the switch. Use the wideband when tuning and in open loop. Then flip the switch to the narrowband when running in closed loop once tuning is over.

run that switched wire to pin D14 on the ecu. and u dont need to install that resistor that the PLX comes with. in uberdata u have the option to disable the O2 sensor and heater so u wont throw a CEL. (once u finshed tuning the car, flip the switch and run the narrow band signal -grey wire, to Pin D14 so u dont throw a CEL for O2 sensor. even though u have disabled the O2 sensor in uberdata, it will still throw a cel if no signal is fed to pin D14.)
also uberdata has support for the PLX WB's. open up uberdata 1.7 and go to the datalogging menu. in there u can choose the PLX wideband to datalog. u will also need to install a datalogging cable in order to perform datalogging

you dont really need a switch either. what i did is installed a female end on the 02 wire from the ecu and a male on both the grey and white wire from the plx. i can switch wires whever i want and i dont need to mess with a switch. whatever works for you.

the resistor would be to trick the computer into thinking it still has a sensor its heating . (the stock one) you can just disable the heater if you have uberdata

I'm using the plx300 with no o2 and uberdata. Can i send the grey to the stock o2 sensor and use white on my a/f guage? I pop an o2 code everynow and again some i'm trying to get rid of it. Right now i have the gray wire going to my a/f guage

one more thing, can i just cut that wire that goes into the ecu pin d14 or should i splice into it? cutting it would make more sense to me, and i think ill do that switch idea.

Ok, im about to install the M-300 and im running hondata. I'm assuming this way will also work with uber/crome ect. Just want to clarify things.
1) Replace stock 02 sensor with Bosch Wideband
2) Connect power and ground to wideband (use +12 and gnd signals close to ecu, if you can)
2) Buy a switch with 3 prongs, d14 (from ecu) goes to one prong as the input, the narrowband AND wideband wires from the sensor go to the other 2 prongs.
3) Have o2 sensor heater disabled all the time, in closed loop and open loop. So no need for resistors.
4) Tune the car with open loop selected and your neet little switch selected on wideband.
5) After you finish tuning the car and are about to burn your chip, select closed loop, and flick your switch to narrowband.

Open loop means it reads the fuel maps stored in the ecu ALL the time, no o2 sensor feedback.
Closed loop means under a high manifold vacuum, like when cruising, it reads the stock narrowband output from the o2 sensor and makes necessary changes to keep the A/F closest to 14.7 to 1. Saves gas basically.
And when the manifold pressure gets low, it kicks out of closed loop, and into open loop and starts reading the maps again.
