Please tell me if these are blown seals...PICS
okay so i have a greddy 15g kit i recently acquired. it was blowin all types of white smoke out of its ***. anyway i searched on here to find that the seals are prolly gone bad.....can anyone confirm this by these pics? this is a d-series kit. i bought the car w/ the understanding that the rings were goin away.THANKS 4 THE RESPONSES..NO I HAVE NOT DONE A COMPRESSION TEST.....I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS MOTOR. I JUST WANNA KNOW IF THE TURBO NEEDS A REBUILD!
THE RETURN LINE WAS A PEICE OF RUBBER TUBE W/ HEAT WRAP ON IT......WAS THAT THE CAUSE OF THIS OIL ...
....OR IS THIS A COMMON PLACE FOR OIL TO LEAK IF THE SEALS ARE BAD
i was hoping by some small chance that it was the motor blowing all the smoke..... and also there was oil coming out of the blow-off valve..could it be this?(cylinder 1)
any help is very much appreciated

Yup, looks like my manifold when my sleeve #3 cracked. There was oil and coolant in the entire exhaust manifold (and the intake lol)

Did you do a compression test? Do a dry test and then a wet test. If need be a leak down.
Is there any shaft play on the turbo?
A quick and ol school getto way is taking the x-manifold off and cranking the motor over to see if there is any oil coming out of the exhaust side of the head.
From the manifold pics check the head, it could be many things, send the head to a machine shop have them look at the Guides and seals.
Good Luck!

Re: (boosted_dc2)
turbo is probably fine, motor has a blown headgasket, and probably a melted piston.
white smoke is liquid/coolant burning.
that buildup of oil on that runner only indicates that there is a serious problem in that cylinder. My guess would almost assuredly be cracked ringlands and/or a melted piston. Ontop of the fact that the headgasket is most assuredly blown.

if the seals were blown, wouldnt there be oil in the DP.
since there is oil in the manifold (before the turbo) the oil seems to be coimin from the motor ( #4 specifically)
i would check the motor out before i worry about the turbo.
hope that helps

its still # 4. hey i had oil in the same area on my turbo. its funny how a gravity return line can come out and go up on the turbo lol but owell at least yours is still good right!! take the motor out in the woods and blow it up
