my engine is a B16A2

eagle rods
cp pistons 81.5mm 9.0:1 compresion
oem valves
supertech dual valvetrain
GT3071R
Turbosmart 38mm external wastegate
HKS SSQV BOV


yestarday a tune it on the road with 7,5 psi spring on the external
and with boost tee turbosmart set to 15 psi.

the car goes very well and strong....

and at the end with no reason i see only 8 psi...
i try to remove the boost controller and set a 15 psi spring into external but i have the same issue.

i try all the holes in the intake manifold but everything seems to be ok..

whats going on?? external issue or something else...

the strange thing is that i have 8psi STABLE.....and no more or lower

 

Do a boost leak test.

but i repeat the strange thing is that keeps stable the pressure....
like i set it to 8 psi...

and dont forget that i remove the boost controler completly and i connect the line direct to external with 15 psi spring

 

you only have 3 options here...
1. Wastegate is screwed up
2. Boost Leak
3. Turbo has an issue

 

the third option you said i think is difficult to happen because the turbo has only 1500 km and i havent oil on intake or exhaust....

the first issue on the turbo is the ball bearings screwed and have a oil leak...am i right?

i am gonna test the wastegate tommorow...but how???
i am gonna open it and check the silicone that have inside...

any ideas how to be sure for that???

 

Check all your charge pipes and clamps. Ill put money you got either a cracked inter cooler or loose hose clamp.
The easiest way to check is to cover the turbo inlet side of your compressor and if your car doesn't turn off you should be able to hear the leak that you have. If it does turn off you don't have a leak.

 

i cover the inlet of the turbo and the car dont turn off..
i see the bov opens and takes air from trere.
i cover and the hks bov outlet and the car turn off instantly even i open the throtlle.

i check again the wastegate and everything seems to be ok.
i remove a charge pipe and i find in there oil.....

my turbo is off????? (i didnt use oil restrictor yet and my oil pressure is about 90 psi...)

 

ok the oil in the charge pipes i fixed..
it was the restrictor...

now i have only 1,5 psi.... WTF is going on....
