Piston to wall question
Ring gaps are an independent thing from P2W clearance. I'm running what some people think are rather excessively wide ring gaps and my motor isn't using ANY oil...
And the consensus on P2W seems to be that the only problem you'll have from .0055" is a bit of cold slap possibly.

But if you bore the sleeve to get more PTW clearance, you will be getting more ring gap, or not.
I have 0.0055 PTW, and my rings have 0.20, 0.22, 0.26 or closer, i dont remember.

Sure, but there's no reason to gap your rings until your P2W is established. In your case, didn't you start out with a large P2W number? If so, you won't be wanting or needing to open up the bore any more, will you? Did I miss something? Sorry if so.
It was a mistake of the machine shop, my next step will be with a darton sleeves.
i got a totally new block to redo it. just researchin a little more before i bore/hone this one. my 87mm .005 block is for sale for anybody who doesnt mind that spec..
for you guys saying .0045 is fine. are you on bseries or kseries? does it matter?
