Default Piecing together your own kit...?

I always read how many people on here prefer to piece together your own kits and how it can be cheaper and you can pick the parts to your liking. But after searching it seems as though piecing together your own kit can be just as expensive if not more then a kit like the Peakboost kit when choosing high quality parts.
So what are some of the sites you guys use to get your parts? I know some use the marketplace on here which is a great resource.
I dunno it would be nice to have a thread to show where to get the best prices for parts.
Any comments or opinions welcome.

peicing together ur own kit is al,ost always cheaper. But then u have to find them, find a good combo and then have a DP made to ur setup, were as a kit, u can buy and bolt.

i can tell you from my own personal experience that it is cheaper to build your own than buy a kit...you just have to wait for someone to give up on their setup and buy their new parts at a reduced price...that's the best way to get a good setup cheap, but you have to be patient and act fast when something comes up...

Anyone other comments are welcome.

ive pieced together 3 kits i think over the past 3 years. you can save money and customize your setup, but it might take a while to get the right parts you need to come along.

heres some good sites for parts

Full-race.com
Spoolinperformance.com
Cheap-turbo.com

Local proformance shops

Get to know people with turboed honda's. It helps alot. That way you can ask them questions to know if your getting ripped off.

Putting together your own kit is the best way. Some companys will say everything you need is included. Yeah ookay. Their wrong

Their kit does not include any engine management, no bigger injectors, 3inch exhaust, some dont include an intercooler, or gauges,

So for the price of a kit you could buy an exhaust injectors and all the other stuff.
