I dont think I would have wasted the time or effort, even if it's free. Sorry.

Damn don't be a *****. That's good stuff IMO, and I don't think the DP will be a big deal.

Stock turbo manifolds are not fancy, why should this one be? I'm sure he will make more than enough power.

Let's compare this to my 96 DX manifold...

Ah very impressive.. I always wondered if that manifold was capable of doing that. I wasnt sure if it had mounting bolts from the cat to the manifold, I thought it was 1 peice..

I believe the manifold is a HF. As for the one peace deal, well it is. you need to cut them apart, then drill holes in the upper portion of the manifold to mouth the turbo. Mine was mounted on a streel machined disk and then mounted to the manifold.

some people may not have wasted thier time, but I'm coming in way under $1000.00 Canadian. Besides, I think paying the mortgage and keeping peace in the house hold is a tad more important. I don't have $5000.00 USD to spend on a turbo kit thanks. and I'm sure there are people here who don't either, not to mention the people wanting to do one and don't have the cash neither. Just cause its home made and alot cheaper don't mean it ain't no good and won't produce any power.

As for the down pipe? No sweat! Actually it not as low as you would think. We checked the D16 Z6 manifold but that was way too low, even though it has more flow potential. Plus I have the O2 housing which will make the down pipe fabrication alot easier. A pal of mine did not have the O2 housing and he made up a down pipe no prob.

If your around a bunch of guy's that are imaginative and are good at fabricating, then anything is possible!

My pal also has this set up on a D15 W/ TD04-15g and runs almost 100mph trap speeds.................low 14's. On a damn DX motor and tranny, explain that please.

So with my D16Z16 complete swap and turbo, I'm still way under a B18C1 swap, and I'll be faster.

Also the turbo is from a 1G Talon, TD05-14b.

If anybody has any advice or suggestions lay em on me.

Besides, this will do till I do a DOHC transplant with another turbo and custom manifold. I should have all the basic do's and don't down after this first step.

AbaZ (Jeff) your site was a big influence! You've done some neet stuff.

Why is it that the compressor housing on that TD05 looks so much smaller than the compressor housings on the TD05's used in GReddy B-series kits??

The only suggestions I would make is to port out the manifold. I have read some websites as well with people who are making home made turbos and they are having wicked success. The other thing is just to make sure that ur fuel is on par. What are u running or plan to run in regards to fuel demands?

thanks for the responses guy's, it all helps.

I plan on using a vortech FMU for now. Only going to push 6psi..............maybe 7.

I may try to get 310cc injectors and a fuel pump.

As for porting the manifold, well a bit of work that is, I don't know what the gains from it would be as its still pretty restrictive flow wise, but still gets the job done. Prob better to get a custom one made?

I think your set up is great. I used to have a Garrett t3 with a custom manifold. I think it was a Hedman Header that was cut in half and welded 4-1. it was dope. I thermal wrapped it to cover all the nasty welds. made all the IC pipes from DynaMax U bends from Napa. and got a Bosch BOV from Turbonetics for like 50 bucks or something. I spent like $300 total for everything but the intercooler&FMU. I made good power. Create dont hate..peace and good luck with the prodject..

Has anyone ever made a manifold like that for a B series motor, Or is that not possible???

I can't see why its not possible. Unless the downpipe flange on the manifold is too low, such is the case with the Z6 manifold.

but there is alway's a way around everything. Like previously mentioned, yu can always get a header and chop it up and fabricate it the way you want. Then you could certainly mount an external vented wastegate.

I would say that will be the next project when I transplant a DOHC at some point.

that is sweet. besides who ever heard someone bragging on how much they paid on a turbo kit. i wish i had the **** to make mine like that. **** the haters

i droped 2g's on mine and hate to tell anyone. i much rather brag that i did a custom exhaust, DP, Fuel, and other ****. just think how much money you can save using a $5 brass valve for a MBC insted of getting a $75 turboX brand MBC. just dont make ******* sence

love your **** man

If you think its expensive in the states well try being in Canada. Price is almost F******* double.....................damn exhange rate and duties!

Basically the option for me was "build it and they would come" ( hp and tq of course).

So anyway nothing ventured nothing gained, hopfully I'll have decent results. You certainly learn alot....................instead of buying, blowing your motor and learning the hard way.

Having pals that are fabricators and motor builders don't hurt either...............ha

More pics and info will be posted once she comes together.

I'll soon be fabricating my intake piping and down pipe. I'll post pics on that aswell.

I have a canadian d16z6 and my exhaust manifold doesn't look anything like that. Where do those come from? Californian d16z6's or just not canadian d16. PS that's a very clean setup. Junkyard turbos are the only option for canadians like us.

Yeah out options are real limited for sure.

As for the manifold, I think its off a 4thgen civic 1.5L.

I will confirm this for you though.
