musta missed that.

either way, thats the reason for going with a triple plate if the disks are still the same diameter as a twin disk.looks like just more weight. Especially if, as is, twins can hold a **** load of torque.. Too much power for a twin?.............

Yep you will hit the limit of a twin disc eventually, but I find it hard to believe you'd really need a triple on a Honda. We were still running an off-the-shelf Nismo Coppermix twin plate when my friend made over 650 ft-lbs of torque to the wheels in his GTR without any slip, so I wonder if this is necisary.

Take the measurements of the GTR and the Honda clutchs...I tend to doubt they use the same diameter discs. And then when you factor in surface area and the effects of torque when applied further from the centerline, you'll understand. When you're running big enough slicks and a suspension modded to plant the car under load, you'll further understand.

Looks great and all, but having a clutch that can handle 3 times the amount of torque you are making is a good way to break trannies! A little slip on the clutch is when keeps the trans together....

Pretty similar actually, I have my OS giken twin plate sitting in the garage next to a clutchmasters stage 1 for my buddies ITR and there isn't a drastic difference in size.

And DR's on a a GTR will hook better than slicks can on a FWD car, so I'm going to say no to the traction being an issue. I've cut 1.70 short times in a GTR with winter tires mounted on it.

I'm not talking about 1st gear launching from the line, I mean 4th gear at 140+ pushing more torque than your GTR came stock for horsepower. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand even a FWD with a trick suspension can't launch with a shitton of power.

If you look at a LS1 clutch, there isnt' a 'drastic' visual size increase either, but a clutch is a function of surface area, diameter, and pressure. 3x the surface area placed 33% closer to the hub will end up holding little more (if not less) than the bigger plate. I recall an article at one of the clutch maker's websites that had all the formulas, but trust me when I say a 'measly' 25% increase in diameter can work out to 100% more capacity.
