Default Pics of my IC :)

My new Spearco IC I got from '99LS' - Core measures 18.5x6x3. I don't see how I'd fit a much bigger one height and depth wise. And yes those are zip ties incase the JB weld on the brackets doesnt' hold.

You can fit bigger. Just takes time and some welding. My core is 22x8x3.5

They won't, speaking from experience.

You should definetly look into getting some actual brackets welded on, you'll be glad you do.

Looks good, though

Here is mine mounted.

I bought some 1 inch wide 1/8 inch thick aluminum sheet for $4 from Lowes and had it welded on. The welding cost me only $20. This is worth every penny than JB welding or riggin it up.

you want black? you got black!

this is mine, its the exact same one, only different endtanks (same dimensions etc)
And the JBweld brackets hold up VERY nicely

don't mind the rigged up i/c piping... you can blame 94tealGSR and his brother for that hey... it works though (barely) haha jk

Hey art, do the parts of the IC that are covered by the integra bumper play a big role in the cooling power of the IC. I would immagine they cant take much heat out if they dont get cooled down.

i used grill paint that holds like 1800 degrees or so, sprayed a real lite coat on then another lite one, then a final lite one, you can see a few thin spots but i didn't want to coat the thing in paint, just get the shine off

Paint acts as a thermal insulator, which is bad for heat exchangers like an intercooler. It's best to anodize it.

IntegraModder has the same ? I do. . .it's just like the GReddy type 24 where half of the i/c is covered by the bumper. Anyone know how much it affects the air.

please outline the reasoning behind radiators being black then.

A light coat of black paint won't make any difference.

Okay, it's not THAT much of an insulator, but it's still an insulator. I'm an **** geek so I guess stuff like this only matters to me.

If you get a paint that's labeled as a high temperature radiator paint, you'll be fine.

yea, ive thought this through many many times, and have come to the conclusion that its much better to have a pony taken away due to a few degree intake charge increase rather than have your whole turbo and or car getting taken away because some little ***** see your FMIC.

i don't understand why everyone thinks paint makes the intercooler ineffecient. The cooling takes place between the bars (where the cooling fins are). and there is 0 paint in there.

the exposed aluminum aids in VERY VERY little cooling exchange.

every little bit counts. The front area of the intercooler is pretty large, maybe about half of the total cooling area between the fins
