pics: downpipe cut by me and welded by project_dc2
first off.. i'm having some problems.. my car builds boost just fine but my BOV is making a weird sound... there's no more chirp sounds with the hks ss but instead it's kinda make a cha cha cha sound.. i know the bov makes a pigeon sound at very low boost but this is at 10 psi.. and it sounds like it's stuck or something no matter what the boost level is.. it's not blow off correctly.. vacuum lines are hooked up the same as my old setup a month ago...
on to the downpipe..
thanks again phil. great guy to work with! his welding is awesome!
half tig half mig welded.. i would have had it all tigged but i needed to get this done.
phase 1: first time cutting any kind of pipes... was kinda scared haha

phase two: ghetto tape.. but hey everything had to be lined up for it to be welded

phase three: welded the first half of the pipe

phase four: welded up the last half of the pipe

phase five: final install.. NO MORE UGLY wastegate lawnmower on crack sound

phase five #2: cut out

and overall engine bay:

the end

Nice, I used that flexible tubing to make fix part of my exhaust last winter on my Accord when my stock muffler fell off after 11 Upstate NY winters. It was badass though, flex tubing with one of those 6" x 15" exhaust "tips" from Pep Boys. Got pulled over an hour after I put it on and told the cop I had a muffler on order; no ticket. It rusted pretty quickly for me though, thats the only problem.
thanks for the replies
yeah I hope that the flex won't rust. where i live, the weather is mostly sunny. no snow or anything..
and that's a stock cat i'm running...

Wow...where did you get a 3" flange to fit the stock cat flange? or is that 2.5"?
